The rules

  1. Letters must be adjacent, including diagonally, and connect in an unbroken chain.
  2. No letter cube may be used twice in the same word.
  3. Words must be at least three letters.
  4. Longer words score more; eight letters or more scores the maximum.
  5. Any word found by more than one player is cancelled for everyone.

What works

  • Endlessly replayable — a new board every shake, no daily limit

What are the rules of Boggle?

Find words by connecting adjacent letters — including diagonals — in an unbroken chain, without reusing a cube within the same word. Words must be at least three letters, and a round lasts three minutes.

How is Boggle scored?

By word length: three and four letters score 1 point, five score 2, six score 3, seven score 5, and eight or more score 11. Words found by more than one player are cancelled.

Can you use diagonal letters in Boggle?

Yes. Any adjacent cube counts, including diagonally, which is what makes the grid far richer than it first appears.

Can you play Boggle alone?

Yes — solo play works well as practice, though you lose the duplicate-cancelling rule that shapes competitive scoring.
